  1. Further to my last missive about the incompetent administration of the CTC
in relation to the membership department, they had not only cocked my renewal
up ( again ) but ,unbeknown to me,had also cocked my wife's up ( again ).

Having had enough of this, but not able to afford the 'Lifetime' membership I
plumped for the 5 years for the price of 4.At least this will keep me out of
their amateur clutches for 5 years.

As I renewed on the phone all they had to do was send the membership cards.

That was nearly 4 weeks and two e-mails ago.

I have heard all about the appalling mess the last outfit caused but as far
as I can see taking membership back in-house has not greatly improved
    things.

    Absolute amateurs!!

I thought it was still out-sourced, but to some one else?

(I'll have to get in contact with them - I've not received my new
membership card I just realised, nor have they taken the direct Debit
    for the membership

    Chris,

When I was talking to them the chap definately said that they had brought
    membership back ' in-house ' not,as you can see,that this has improved
    efficiency at all.

I've been waiting 3 months for my cycle instructor's certificate. I've
been waiting 4 weeks for a copy of Cyclecraft and an instructor's
hi-vis tabbard. I'll start a daily e-mail bombardment soon if they
don't pull their finger out soon.

Mind you, it's not just CTC. I put in an order for 8 new bicycles
with Transport for London in early July. They have yet to arrive. TfL
blame Raleigh, but from the Panorama programme the other day Raleigh
seem to have a well-stocked and efficient warehouse.

I sent my membership form off at the end of August, my credit card was
debited on the 7 September, since then nothing. No Membership card, no
information and no reply to my email. Is this a professional
organisation or a bunch of part time amateurs as this is NOT the
correct way to treat a new member.

As you can see from my original post it is not just new members who are
treated like [censored],the rest of us suffer just as much.
If it wasn't for the third party insurance and legal assistance I wouldn't
give them the time of day.

  8. Bad form to reply to own post, but "CTC Membership Advisor" has replied
to my email. I now know my membership number and should get some
information sent soon. Good luck getting your problems sorted out Sam

    Cheers

Well I emailed membership dept last night, had an email back today
apologising because my renewal was not sent out due to problems
    remaining from the old outfit.

But the DD seems to have gone through later than expected, and so I'm
waiting to see if the membership card arrives

Well someone somewhere has got the incorrect info.... :-)

in the recent email I received from Alexia Adcock,
    CTC Membership Advisor she says:

'For your information CTC has experienced serious problems with our
membership contractor which has affected your renewal. The contractor
has now been replaced, but it is taking some time for us and our new
supplier to correct the many problems that have arisen.'

I've just received my membership card and covering letter dated August
    05. I also received the same card and letter in, you guessed it, August
    05.

So I was not amused to read in the new CTC mag that membership admin was
now 'delivering the quality of services both CTC and its members
    expect'.

I've e-mailed them for an explanation.
