What is a Troll?

Now Ed either didn't read it for fear that he would be staring truth
and a portrait of himself in squarely the face or he did read it and is
simply in denial. There is no other plausible explanation. Regardless,
it really matters not because Ed matters not. The readership knows who
and what Ed Dolan is and nothing he can say will in any way alter the
perception of himself which Ed has forged.

Anyone who is new to this TROLL down under might want to read that post
and the man in his own words...

A "troll" is an insult. There is no legal defintiion of it.

You will never have your ISP account suspended for "Trolling"

I do not go along with that. I can take and give any amount of insults as
long as the insults are responsive. It is the unresponsive mindlessness of
trolls that bothers me the most.

Yes, you are more likely to get your account suspend for vile language than
anything else. I think only threats need to be reported to the police. I

Well, I think we all know a real troll when we encounter one. Thankfully
they are few and far between. In all my years on ARBR, there has only been
one troll who constituted a danger to the group. In fact, he pretty much
destroyed the group.

What is most peculiar here is that we have a man that everyone
recognizes to be a troll, who is himself in denial and yet is
attempting to define what constitutes a troll, a spammer and an
stalker. Ed Dolan doesn't have a clue. Ed is more often that not

In a sense anyone who posts a message to Usenet is trolling for a response.
None of us write just to see ourselves in print. We want responses from
others. That kind of trolling is of the essence for all newsgroups.

Ed Gin left once he had accomplished his purpose which was to destroy ARBR.
I had to stay in order to try to rebuild the group. But one person cannot
do what it takes a group to do, at least not when it comes to a newsGROUP!

No one on these cycling groups will know what succinct means without going
to a dictionary. Always use common words in preference to uncommon words.
How many times do I have to reiterate this rule of good writing style.

What we have here is and example of the pot calling the kettle black.
Ed Dolan uses not only uncommon words but even Latin phrases (read
words from a virtually dead language). Succinct is not very uncommon.
I am reasonably certain that Ed has underestimated the vocabulary of
the readers here.
