Spammers are perhaps the most innocuous of all Usenet pests. They mostly post their messages in original posts and so they are very easy to ignore. Such spammers never bother me in the slightest.
However, there are occasionally spammers who will insert their messages into various on-going threads. This is indeed very annoying and brings out the rage in everyone. Ed Gin (Johnny NoCom) of ARBR was such a spammer, but I think when you do this you are more of a troll than a spammer.
The best thing you can do with a spammer is NEVER, I repeat NEVER, respond - period. Most will quickly go away never to be heard from again. However, there are some spammers who seem to hang around forever. But you soon recognize who they are and then it becomes extremely easy to ignore them.

Thats why you don't see any "enlarge your penis" posts on usenet - because the bots make it too laborious for them to spam.
AI and anti-spam is a serious industry mate. By definition, if a post gets through onto usenet its NOT SPAM.
