This is probably a really dumb question, but maybe there are others out
there that are not quite sure what it is either. I looked it up on the net
and all I found was that is was on some speedos and not on others. I dont
think mine has it - can someone just enlighten me as I was reading another
thread and maybe this mystery cadence will help me go up hills too! :P

cadence is how fast your feet go around - usually measured in rpm
the resultant speed (or hill climb rate) are dependant (in part) on the gear
ratios that you have and the power required to turn the pedals (how strong
you are)for a given set of conditions (speed or climb) lower gears can be turned
faster with less power than higher gears - Lance goes fast at low power
which is like a high revving engine - Jan goes slower pushing a higher gear
which is a bit like a tunking deisel enginedifferent types of riding (touring, racing, etc) benefit from different
ratesgo to RBUK or Cycling News (under training) for further info

It'd be a really dumb question if you didn't ask it ;-)

In cycling terms- pedal rate
How many times the cranks go around each minute.
Usually 90-100rpm on the flat, perhaps a bit less on steep hills and maybe
as high as 200 in a full on track sprintPeter

Everywhere you've said "power", you mean "torque" - Lance doesn't do anything at "low power", whatever else you may say about him. Power is the product of cadence and torque, and is maximal at a cadence of 90-110. -

No, you were right - the pedals turn once for every turn of the cranks. -

No, you were right - the pedals turn once for every turn of the cranks.--
artemidorusThey also turn if you miss on clipping in and just rub the cleat over
the top or flick it. I figured some pedant would pick me up on that. 😉Tam

Alternatively, they could (just like everyone else) call your kid Lachlan, Harrison or Jacob. How very original.
Lotte (not caring at all if anyone here has kids by those names - sorry!)

according to records there were only 2 other babies given that name in the
previous 2 years. Then move to Australia where every second child of his
age seems to be called Thomas. Och well, it's a good name.Graeme
