Non 'binary' news groups are supposed to be plain text only, and many news
service providers consider not doing so to be a TOS violation. Trying to
keep file size to content ratio as low as possible I suppose.

Depends on my mood. A lot of the time when my DH is out of town, I make
dishes I like but he doesn't like. (One particular dish is manicotti
stuffed with roast chicken, sauteed spinach, and goat cheese (he HATES
goat cheese, and I love it), covered with a fresh tomato sauce.) My
two-year-old daughter is not a picky eater and will eat just about
anything. Sometimes she and I will get takeout; sometimes I'll whip up
something quick, like eggs; and sometimes I'll make something that I'd
normally make when DH is home with us.

When my mother isn't there my father cooks his own creations that no
one in their right mind would eat. He "experiments" a little when
she's there, too, but mostly in the evenings after supper and not for
meals that they eat together.

BTW, could you turn off the html? I left the above stuff so you can
see how difficult your messages are to read for those of us who don't

Can't say I'm the "chief cook", we share the cooking. But there are
times when the DH is away that I cook things he doesn't like but I do.
But hey, give youself a night off and go for meal somewhere, or get your
favourite take-aways!

the page is usually constructed in HTML however the link itself is not - the
highlighting that occurs is nothing more than a recognition of a string of
letters. as example www.this or www.that or [email hidden]

It depends on how long my little sous chef is aware. If it
is just one night I usually just have soup and a sandwich.
If it is longer I stick to quick meals, Buffalo wings,
grilled steak, salmon steak and such.

When Crash leaves the house, I break out the sauerkraut. And when he went
through a non-eating streak for a couple of weeks recently, I made that
hotdish with elbow macaroni, diced tomatoes, hamburger, and seasonings. He
won't eat chunks of tomatoes. They have to be sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed
that hotdish! 🙂

Technically, links are http (hyper text transfer protocol). The browser
(Netscape or Internet Explorer, etc) uses the computer language, HTML
(HyperText Markup Language) to display the information on web pages and
web sites in a form that displays words as words, pictures as pictures,
graphics as graphics, animations as animations, etc.

When we communicate with Email, we use the plain ole English that we would
use to write a letter (non-English speakers use whatever is their "normal"
language) But when we use the WWW (World Wide Web) [one of the 3 parts of
the Internet] to "communicate" (through web pages), we "write" those pages
in the specially developed computer language (HTML) designed specifically
to be "read" by a browser that translates the pages into a form that you
can read and see and that looks like the plain ole English that you are
used to (or the other "tongues" that other speakers are use to).

When you send an email to a newsgroup, it is supposed to be 'plain text',
that is just words (plain ole English, or another "tongue"😉 with no
pictures, color, graphics, animation, etc. If you send your email in HTML,
and a person is reading in a "text-only" browser (which is correct for
newsgroups), then all the commandss (the actual HTML language) shows up,
too and makes the message very hard to read. It also takes up a lot more
space.
