What Did Armstrong Actually Say?

I watched the race. I don't think Lance could have beaten Basso today.
Basso looked much too strong. Lance looked much more tired.

I think ProCycling got the story right and the rest is a bunch of [censored].

Well, remember Armstrong was probably speaking French translated from English,
so the additional French->English translation compounds the loss of
resolution on subtleties.

If he said that he intentionally let Basso win, it was a stupid comment.
Riders are allowd a higher threshold of stupidity when they're exhausted --
I know I could barely think at the end of races. Still...
