I've been riding "Cannondale Synapse Carbon 6" all this while and its been a good exp till date but now as I am moving to a new place I'll be riding on Unpaved roads & some rough surfaces all the way to office. So I wanted to know what are the chances of the tires of my Cannondale being ripped! I've just spent few bucks in replacing them and I cannot afford to do it quite often. Any help would be appreciated !

- the conditions and character of the roads and gravel
- the tires you are using
- the total weight on the bike
- the pressure to which you've inflated the tires
- luck

I haven't been riding enough to know the answer to that. But if I may ask another question... What are the chances of a carbon road frame, plus (assuming you have them) a racing/road riding wheel-set and various other parts wearing out in those conditions? To me that'd be a worry...

I have the same bike as you. Keep in mind that if the road conditions are severe your bike has very little room for you to add wider tires if need be. Your bike does not allow for racks and fenders to be mounted on it. If you are carrying things back and forth plan on using a back pack. - the conditions and character of the roads and gravel

If you are worried about your tires, you should get a set of Gatorskin Continentals. I personally haven't used them, but know people that have and they all seem to like them and their durability.

Some people swear by Gatorskins, some swear at them. For durability and performance, I've had good luck with Continental GP4000s and and Vredestein Fortezzas. The Continentals run fat (a 23mm Conti is more like a 25 in most other brands). Both are available in 25mm, and the only newer bike I've seen that will not accept 25s was a run of 2008 Specialized Roubaixs.

25's will fit the OP's bike. I was thinking in line of CX type tires for the unpaved surfaces. -
How far are you going to be riding?
Have you considered a cheaper bike, mountain bike maybe? Save the good bike
and get a department store bike for the ride to work.One repair could cost as much as a nice low end bike.
