  1. Is rectus femoris inflamation a common injury? I searched but it is not
    mentioned much.

  2. Yes, your rectal itching is common.

It's fancy term for an inflamed quad muscle. "Quadriceps A muscle group
at the front of the thigh connected to a common tendon that surrounds
the knee cap and attaches to the tibia (lower leg bone). The individual
muscles are the rectus femoris, vastus intermedius, vastus lateralis and
vastus medialis. Acts to extend the lower leg."

It responds well to rest, massage and/or physical therapy and NSAIDs. I
would be willing to bet your have knots to go with the inflammation and
they need to be released before you can improve. When you have knots
it shortens the muscle and you get pulls at the ends - top of the knee
and/or in the groin. If you have knots stretching is big time bad. All
you do is [censored] of the extremes. Once the knots are gone light stretching
    can help.

I happen to have a problem with my vastus medialis from running a race
with too much mud. My massage therapist is still working out the knots.
Depending on how many or how big it may take multiple visits.

Ozzie always says roll you quads. A good thought but when a quad muscle
gets gnarly you need some dammed well trained fingers to release the
    SOBs.

So what have you been doing if you have had this for two months?

Black eyes, broken noses, and broken ribs are common injuries among beginner
    trolls.
