I have heard a lot about Aviemore in Scotland as a tourist resort with winter sports such as
skiing.I was just wondering if anyone has been and how would they rate it out of 5?

Jo, assuming one gives Motherwell 3, Aviemore rates about 7.

The main tourist sport in Aviemore is separating the tourist from his money! ... and it's an all-
year sport. In winters when there is good snow there is good skiing and boarding about but it is
best to avoid the overcrowded slopes if possible. Too often the snow is scrubbed down by overuse to
leave icy patches and granite grit. The shape of the hills round the 'developed' ski area also leads
to frequent unpleasant weather even when it is a nice day lower down and it has to be really bad
before they shut down the tows. So if you are competent enough head for the Feshie hills, Braeriach,
Macdui, etc. and avoid queues.Motherwell does not have much going for it either but given that the people are friendlier there and
Aviemore has some nice hills, I would put them both equal on 1 out of 5.Graham

That would be sub-optimal for sure.

only so much productive things to do before looking at what's happened.Pete.
