  1. Anybody ever run the Hatfield McCoy marathon? Is it any easier than
Ridge Runner in Cairo WV? Are there any others in the state?
    Thanks.

I ran it last year. Basically only 2 hills (a long 1 mile climb between
miles 6 and 7 and a short climb at around mile 22 or so) and the roads are
pretty quiet with low traffic. You get to run on some dirt/gravel roads,
across a swinging bridge, and across a golf course on the cart paths. The
course isn't certified so it's "about" 26.2 miles. The bad part of the race
is the weather since June in West Virginia is probably going to be hot and
humid. It was in the 80's (temp and humidity) last year with intermittent
rain and sun that made it feel like a sauna (there's a reason they don't
hold marathons in summer). Great volunteers with aid every mile (yes, EVERY
mile). It would be a great race if it was held in spring or fall but I
    wouldn't go back in June.
There's a marathon in Huntington on November 14. The website is

  7. Please be aware that all races in West Virginia are team events. You
jog 5 miles, then hump your sister. Then another 5 miles, and hump your
    sister. Then another....

Sounds like fun, when's the next race? But it'll have to be 15 miles
or less, I only have two sisters.

    Then you can hump yourself.
