And if Perth kids go to certain schools, they can study circus skills as part of their primary school curriculum. My 12 year old daughter did it last year in year 7 and her 9 year old sister did it as an extension course at school after class. (All this talk about fixies - try a fixed gear uni-cycle. And the kids can jump them over ramps too!)

Perth is not just full of good looking people but good looking circus performers.

I saw a young boy on a unicycle grab an overhead tightwire, do a chinup
while pulling the unicycle up with his thighs, then return to the ground
and keep riding. It was cute. At the circus festival, unicycle was one
of the main modes of transport. And flying.

I'm commuting to the city from Springfield Lakes... so I'm a Westie now.

I'd also be keen to do a BLART ride. Am going to Gap Creek this weekend to suss out the XC track (if anyone is interested, feel free to join in) for the April 10 Sunshine Series race. The following weekend is the Great Brisbane Bike Ride.. I'll be riding in, doing the ride and riding home, so it'll end up being around 115 - 120km. Let me know if you're interested in doing the ride as I'm organising a team and need to have everyone's entries in by Friday. If you want me to pick your entry up, let me know and I'll go for a little drive at some stage this week.

I've actually been trying to decide whether to do the GBBR or the Gold
Coast Triathlon. I am a little worried about the "lots of gumbies"
factor with the GBBR as I've never done it before. If you've done it
before and it's not too bad please let me know and I'll sign up!

I have a funny mental image of clowns commuting to work on their
unicycles, riding along the cycleways in their funny clothes complete
with whizzing sounds and flour bombs.

I did it last year and yeah there were heaps of gumbies to battle because they all considered themselves 'elite' (who get to leave 15 minutes before the gumbies). I started at the back of the 'elite' group, thinking I'm a fat [censored] but not 100% gumby. This year, however, I'm starting right up the front of the elite group. This year.... I am LANCE!!!

I think it'd be great fun - they close one lane of Coro Drive for us and everything!
