  1. Hi,

Does anyone know of any program that's available that will calculate the WW points for a given
serving size of a recipe? Or recipe software that will do it? It's a pain in the ass to have to
figure the points for each ingredient and then add 'em all up, divide, hope it's right, etc. It
would be nice to be able to input a recipe, specify the serving size, and get the answer!

    Thanks!

I've been hoping for something like that, too. I doubt if you'll see it, however, unless WW offers
it directly to memebers. They're so caught up in copyright and registration that I doubt anyone else
    would be able to sell
    it.

What I do, however, is use MasterCook's built-in nutritional calculations to determine the
calories, fiber, and fat in a serving of a recipe, then calculate the points from that. It's much
    easier that way.

Weight Watchers has a little slide rule sort of thing where you put in the calories, fiber and fat
and it does the job of figuring for you. I would guess that you could get one from them, I doubt if
they would give it away but someone you know may have an extra one. Ask around. Rosie

Living Cookbook (livingcookbook.com) has a points calculator. I'm not sure if that is what you are
looking for or not but they do have a demo version that you can download. I hope that this helps!

I have a spreadsheet that's helpful for calculating recipe ingredients. If you're interested, email
me privately, readah at hotmail dot com. Just make sure the subject line says Weight Watchers or I
may accidently delete it. :-) readah

I have Jim Button's WW points calculator for Palm. Easy to carry. But you could make your own. Here
    is the formula:

    POINTS(R) = (calories/50) + (fat grams/12) - (fiber grams/5)

I have and I've been told nothing is currently available and they oppose you using freeware (like
they can do anything about it :-> ). They claim it's not reliable. Ha! It's a simple equation.

  9. Hello Take a look at PieceOfCake (pieceofcake.wspieceofcake.ws). It has some functions that allows you
to connect your ingredients to the NSDA table where you can get the data needed to calculate the WW
points. Once this connection is done the points are calculated automatically for your recipes. You
need to supply the formula yourself (I see someone has supplied it in this thread) in the program.

I am the developer of PieceOfCake and I am about to make a new release where these functions have
been developed further. If you want more details about how it works or if you would like to download
    a preview please contact me.

    Kind regards /Claes

Yes, unfortunatetly, the meeting leader is not very computer literate.

I think I found Jim Button's website, but there's no WW calculator there any more. Do you have a URL
for a website where I can D/L it?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, that was over a year ago and I have suffered a major HD crash and burn since.
However, you're in luck because I was able to find it:

    freewarepalm.comwwpoints.shtml

You have drop down menus for fiber and fat and you input the calories and press compute.

Please note that WW does not approve, and really who gives a screw, eh? :-)
