  1. I'd like to put some weight on even though i'm increasing my mileage. i've
heard that two or three glasses of wine a night will considerably increase
my size regardless of how much i run...thoughts?

  2. It'll certainly make you a drunk, but the rest is [censored].

Why? Do you want to run slower?

Creating a caloric surplus (regardless of where you get the calories)
    will cause a weight gain.

I'll admit is less common but one can be too thin and adding pound or
two could help. Not all people run because they are fat and want to lose
    weight. .

Bingo, eat more calories then you burn off. While a few glasses of wine
or a beer or two may add some calories, there is nothing magical about
    either.

Nah, TKB, methinks MH (formerly TDV) is poking LA (nee GD) in the ribs.
See the "I beat Donovan" thread, e.g.: http://tinyurl.com/e2aag

Anyhow we're all pretty sure MH runs plenty slow already, if at all.

How's your cholesterol? Red wine will reduce it, although Bicycling
magazione (the only place i've seen this) says that white wine metabolizes
easier. Cheers! OTOH, lift weights -- it'll add muscle, weight, and is
    less addictive even than running.

I will second this. If you want to gain weight, eat more calories and do
some weights to gain it as muscle. I would not prefer wine for this
however, since it will be stored as fat. Choose a little more proteins
and carbs than what you normally eat.

How many times do you run in a week and how long? If you can add some
weights sessions for a while and eat more you will gain the weight you
want. After that you can drop the weight sessions.

Really? How is it that extra calories from wine is any different than
    extra calories from something else?

pointed it out i never realized that when you say my name quickly it sounds
awfully as if i'm referring to the female anatomy. this explains 6 and a
