  1. Well, I'm still 155. I admit to going out last nite and choosing to eat at
a Chinese Buffet. I did well until the third plate and it went downhill
    from there.

Today I started well, but again, decided to eat a Subway on wheat AND a few
    handsfull of popcorn.

But, now it is a new hour and I am getting back on track.

I am determined to lose 5 lbs this month and KNOW that I WILL make it!!!

Confession is good for the soul. I still feel guilty.

Carol Ann, there must be something in the air today in the Southeast.
I've been doing fantastic for several months with no "cheats." Then
today I got stressed out at work and got out late, stopped at
Hardee's on the way home and got their special "Philly cheesesteak
burger" and ate it bun and all, along with a large order of fries.
*Sigh.* Why do we do this to ourselves? I couldn't feel more guilty
if I had stopped in an alley on the way home and smoked crack.

Oh well, tomorrow's another day ...

I think it has to do with the mind-body duality and the fact that an
integrated "self" is an illusion maintained by the conscious mind to organize
things and prevent us from "hearing voices". There is also evidence that the
conscious mind will invent explanations for doing things that it "didn't do"
to avoid facing the fact that something was done over which "we" had no
    control.

Then again, it could have been just a rhetorical question on your part :-)

  6. I've had the ferocious munchies for the past 2 days. It's close to that
TOM, which is probably it, since the week before I was pretty blase'
about food and wasn't even thinking about it much. Now - "munchzilla".

I've managed to keep it pretty low carb, but the quantities, oy vey...
I recently discovered Marcona almonds at Costco (blanched, salted, very
good) and ate about 1/4 of the can in the last 2 days when usually I
try to limit it to 5 or 6 nuts at a time, total.

One of the many reasons to stay on plan is the difficulty to get back ON
plan afterwards. 3 days later and I'm finally getting the message that even
    a little is too much!

I'm at 158 today and now have to lose 8 lbs by the end of the month.

I AM going to do it!!

I was right back on plant he next day. My way of eating is so
"normal" to me now that it's eating the carbs that doesn't feel right.
And I dropped two pounds from yesterday. Sometimes I wonder if that
occasional carb "cheat" doesn't give the metabolism a temporary boost
that can help burn calories afterwards. I think the "Zone" is based
    partially on that idea.

I've set a short-term goal for myself to lose 8 pounds by July 8th
when I begin a 2-week vacation, and I know I can do it. That will put
me at 228 pounds. Not my ultimate goal, but also not too bad on my
    6'2" frame!

I've managed to keep it pretty low carb, but the quantities, oy vey...
I recently discovered Marcona almonds at Costco (blanched, salted, very

My problem is that it has been extra hot here in S. Texas and I am in the
mood for slushies and ice cream and that isn't good. Sonic doesn't make a

Do what I did -- bought a snow cone machine for about $20 at WalMart
then stocked up on Splenda-sweetened DaVinci SF Syrups (online, got a
    case of a dozen mixed 750 ml bottles for about $50). it's a year's
(or more) supply of slushies and snow cones with close to zero carbs
    and satisfies that sweet/cold tooth!
