Iam taking a week off from running after i had slight to moderate sharp pain in my ankle from running. Iam still cycling 45 mins in the morning, and replacing my evening run with another 45 mins cycling session....both of which on a stationary bike every day. I am also sticking to my weight lifting and core strength workouts. My worry is that due to me only running for 4-5 months (the most progress of which being in the last 2 months) that i will loose some of the progress i have made. I feel that i could go out running tomorrow night, but i dont want to risk going out when the injury is not 100% healed...so ill stick supplementing this with cycling for the rest of the week, and restarting again monday....would i have lost any progress?

I once had to take a 5-6 days off due to a hip injury. I cycled 1hr/day in lieu of running. That Saturday, on my first run after the layoff, I took 20 seconds off my 10k pr.

No, not really. You might feel rusty for a day or two, but that's all.
Once you figure out how a week of rest among quality training doens't hurt much, you begin sliding into laziness and end up where I am :o)

I hope not because I've missed the last three days and will probably miss a couple more. Bad summer head cold. Just can't run with it.
but I've missed that many runs before and it never took very long to get back.

Chill, one week is fine. Better to let it heal than not to run at all. Last year before my marathon, I had to take a 10 day complete break. My time was 2:19 - a PR by a full 1 minute 45 seconds.
