Many thanks for all the replies so far, at this stage we are just
looking for a view on costs as we haven't outgrown our 15 meg free ISP
allowance.

It would be good to have the space to put on better quality photos, it
also depends on how our British walks page takes off.

Roughly, even if we decided to get a home user licence to be able
include OS maps we would would be talking the equivalent of a beer each
a week, which is fine for our main hobby.

Availability has been high (I've not noticed any downtime). Their
customer support used to be appalling - but they were taken over last
month, and support now seems excellent.

I'd imagine that at a tenner a year you get what you pay for. I have a
Gradwell developer account and host a few sites for people. If you have
to give a lot of help the cost goes up.

The thing you need to be careful of is, how easily can you get the tag
transferred if you want to change hosts? At the moment a colleague of
mine is having a hard job transferring a domain from 1and 1.

That was the first thing I checked with HL - in theory it's both free
and immediate. Of course, they could drag things out if they wanted
to, but hopefully I won't have the need to find out...
