Can anyone tell me whether there's much snow on the hills of Snowdonia at
the moment? Metcheck will tell me how cold it is (very) and how windy it is
(very), but not how much lying snow there is. Planning a trip there over
next few days, but I don't have any crampons and stuff like that.

when i was up there a couple of weeks ago there was a slight dusting of snow
on the summit of snowdon, and summits that were above 1050m.
it was warm enough for just a light fleece top in the day and there was no
frost except for a few hours on the first night at night.i started checking metcheck a few days before i went up there. i thought
that the height they were giving for the 0c level seemed higher than it was,
judgeing by the snow on the tops and the fact that it rained heavelly one
day, but there was still snow on the tops the next day.scott

There wasn't a flake of snow from what i could see today.
Carneddau across to Snowdon all snow free, definately, i was enjoying a pint
looking at em about three hours ago (then it got dark).dave

Sounds good to me, though a few flakes would be nice for the scenery!
Planning on going up the Glyders and maybe Tryfan - they have always eluded
me, been beaten back by hailstorms and high winds before. 3rd time lucky
maybe. -

that I've got a chance to go to the hills, its changed to gales and pissing
