No argument here. Helmets are considerably lighter, better ventilated and aerodynamic than they were
last time riders were forced to wear them. It's good for the sport, as it creates more sponsorships,
racing improves the product no end and if everyone has to wear one it's a level field.Pity poor Jacky Durand who protested (briefly) mandatory helmets and landed on his, which saved
him from serious injury, but messed up his season in a stupid stunt. Does he have a team for next
year, yet?I've been wearing one ever since I went over the bars and landed with my head inches from a stout
fallen branch. Just got a nice new one and itching to wear it on a ride. -

As a matter of fact helmets have changed almost none since "last time". If anything they have gotten
higher frontal areas because they have to increase the diameter to meet the slightly more stringent
