I hit 87.0kph on a downhill "truck sprint" the other day. I jumped in behind an F150 after a
stoplight and rode the slipstream down the hill. I was spun out in my 53x12. I'm not sure I could do
that speed in the wind, but I'm sure I'm not as strong as the leadout guys in the pros.

Made me realize exactly what Cipo was doing when he was pulled over for motorpacing behind the car
on the autostrada at 90kph...

Yeah, but Cipo can probably do that on the flat, with a draft.

Note that the first 1-minute mile on a bicycle happened in the stone age
(1899) thanks to a draft from a train.

Murphy was a pretty good cyclist, but drafting is mighty potent. I'm a pretty pathetic specimen, but
I have hit 50 km/h when drafting traffic, in my street clothes (I must look like some kinda nut:
pretty Pinarello "commuter bike", long pants tucked into socks, and often a dress shirt, averaging
25+ km/h on my short commute).
