I started WW At Home four weeks ago and have been doing
very well. I've been having a problem with retaining
water, though.
This isn't the "oh, I didn't lose any weight last week so I
must be retaining water" excuse kind of thing but the lumpy
legs and doughy ankles kind of retaining water. I've been
taking my meds for this, but I still find it bothersome.
This isn't something I was bothered with this much before I
started the program. So while I know I've eaten too much
sodium lately, I also know it's nothing near what I use to
have in the out-of-control days when a couple tubs of buttered-and-
salted popcorn was a midafternoon snack.
So my questions are:
1. What's causing this? I know exercise can make you retain
water, but I've treadmilled since I went OP and have
been up to 30 minutes per day for the past two weeks and
the problem is getting worse, not better.
2. How much water can one person retain? I lost 4 lbs last
week, some of which had to be water, no? And my ankles
still feel like water balloons only not so resilient.
3. Are there any nutritional supplements I could take
to help? I'd just as soon forego the prescription
meds if I can.
TIA
