because this proliferates germs.
Only if you're sharing it with other guys in the gym.

doesn't get much in from the dishwasher and they also pooh pouched hand
washing.
I wonder if keeping the bottle in the freezer (between uses) would be
beneficial in killing the microscopic baddies?
Freezing doesn't kill bacteria. It slows their growth so
the frozen thing stays closer to "fresh", which is really
just "minimally infected".
Freezing does kill some small animals and their eggs,
but a plastic bottle isn't a salmon filet, so that's not
really pertinent here.
Freezing does nothing to virii, though drying can "kill" some
of them.
Washing the bottle in water over 140 degrees for more
than 30 seconds should kill most of whatever you might be
worried about.
But then, washing it in cold water with soap would reduce
the number of whatever you were trying to kill to the
aforementioned level called "fresh".
I just fill mine. The handlebars on the spin-bike and
the knurled grips on the dumbbels are far more infected
than my water bottle ever will be.
