personally prefer the 38 Special Revolver because of it's light weight,
small size and dependability, but don't expect to ever run into hard core

I have a Wrist Rocket. It could leave a very nasty welt or even put your
eye out.

Glocks are decent weapons but, in my experience, they have some drawbacks.
It's not known for it's accuracy (you can't adjust it) and I'm not a fan of
long pull double actions. Their half [censored] safety feature makes me nervous.
If I was looking for a lightweight weapon to put into a back pack though? An
H&K USP40 (.40 cal) would take care of most 2 or 4-legged varmints. You're
not going to drive any nails with it but it's reliable and pretty durable.

Personal preference ... but I was partial to the SIG Sauer P229 in .
375 SIG. With a barrel swap you can also feed it .40 S&W. A far
better carry than the old Beretta M9 9mm, and it is light and fits in
smaller hands.

..475 linebaugh nothing like a 400gr slug moving at 1000fps coming from

last month, I will not even attempt to XC ski ever again. Those damn
skinny sticks were just not for me.

Yeah, it's actually a pretty neat sport and I don't really even like
guns. The control required to go from maxed cardio to making a good shot
is huge. The athletes use a lot of biofeedback training to lower their
heart rates using thought.
If I was going to do a gun sport, that would be it for sure.

Maybe I'll invent a new version that uses sling shots and requires the
skier to make good powder turns too. That would be right up my alley.

I had a mtn bike friend who wondered off into the hills of the northern
sierra nevada and I lost touch with him but long ago before he did he
was doing biahtlons. He was a good skier and marksman but they also did
summer training of running and shooting, he tried to get the organizers
to do bike and shoot but I don't know if they ever did.
