  1. Did an app. 40 mile out and back solo ride today. At the apex I checked my distance and average speed and started back. Several miles later I looked down to check my speed on a descent and my cyclocomputer was gone!!!; just a lonely looking mount.

I retraced my path, especially around a rough RR crossing, but to no avail.🙁

As I don't recall feeling anything bounce off my thigh or any strange noises; (and I know that I could never do anything as foolish as not making sure that it was well fastened) there can be only one logical explanation extraterrestrials...

They are here and they want our cycling accessories…Beware.

I HATE when that happens!!! 😄

Almost as bad, is when you run over something small and hard that clinks against your bike and bounces down the road, and you're not sure whether or not it was something holding your bike together, or your house keys etc. It's almost always a rock but that doesn't stop you worrying or fumbling around to check your saddle bag is still there!

  4. Yeah, lately aliens have been stealing my tail-lights. [censored]! For a while there, they were stealing my black socks from the dryer.

First the abductions and the anal probes, now this. They must be stopped!

They usually zap me with the "forget Ray" but luckily they haven't taken my cyclocomputer, its a Polar 720i so I would be [censored] if they did!

Anyway, that's how I know that I'm regularly abducted, I snap out of it somewhere further down the road, but since I know my training loop is 35 miles and my computer records only 20 or so, there's no other explanation. That's all the evidence I need, well, that and the implant in the back of my neck...

    :P

  6. And what ever happened to my Rudy Projects????? (X-File's music starts)

  7. Feanor .. on your loop I think you are entering the "Burmuda triangle" (though a tad bit of course) or maybe a time wharp? this surely must be the explanation for missing miles .. I am going to use that excuse for sure! What I want to know is .. if it is aliens that nick your socks - why don't they fold the bloody laundry whilst they're there, why do they steal 1 of the pair and what in God's name are they using them for?!?!?!?

They've been taking my valve stem removers and riding glasses for years. I suspected the Black Helicopters....now I know different. Expect to see a ransom note demanding cow eyes in exchange for your computer. Always happens about tax time....

Have you measure your tire circumference lately?

Maybe there is the 15 miles stolen from you …

Or maybe you’re to fast for the Polar to sense the spins of your front tire 😄

If the distance is not correctly measured, your speed values must be wrong to, any sign of this? or Alf is playing with us again.

Serenaslu: maybe you’re taking a nap while pedaling when you hit a bump and your cyclocomputer fall of before you wake up. I think there is a reasonable explanation for everything 😉

    Regards

  10. I once had my light stolen when it was in the bike shop for repair.
The only problem I've had with the computer is when the bike has been sliding around in the back of the ute and the wire has come loose on the back, either the cadence is not functioning or the speedo is not working.

  11. Yeah I don't like it when this kind of thing happens. You do need to just trace your steps. Aliens took it. Lol sometimes it feels that way when things just disappear. You'd probably have a memory lapse. If all else fails blame it on the aliens.

  12. I lost my wallet the aliens took it they slashed my pocket without me ever noticing it. I lost my helmet and oh the aliens again took it. Funny these aliens also know how to ride a bike huh. There are a couple of them in the city. :P
