Software programs typically are not used for adjusting warfarin dosage
at medical centers.

Probably my reference center (the coagulation department, cardiology
service of a major hospital in Milan, Italy) is somewhat atypical :-)

I am completely baffled. What is the point of this software
programme? Surely your INR is too low or high or just right as
advised by hospital checking system. Diana

Hi Diana,
my point is not to measure my INR, which is done at a specialized lab.
My point is to self-adjust my dosage of Coumadin/Warfarin. Or, to
understand the adjustments specified to me by my medical centre.

You know, this is how it goes with me most times:
1) I call the centre and provide them the INR value just got from the
lab
2) I hold on a couple of minutes, during which I hear them type on
their Pc keyboard
3) I get their response, i.e. the day-by-day new dosage of Coumadin
and the next check date.

That means, imho, that they use some sort of software, do you agree?
Well, that is the software I'm looking for ...

Hello Uplbet (Is that yr name?)

I had not realised that you had this system. Sounds a bit long-winded
if you don't mind my saying so. Seems odd to have a lab and a medical
centre involved. You may be right about a software system being
used. My local hospital (15 minutes away from my home) take the blood
and then 'phone later if they want me to change anything. They are
still using needles even though the heart hospital I attend every few
months is now using the thumb [censored] machine. The local hospital say
they are not accurate enough. Diana

so far I have tried as many as five medical centres+labs located in
two regions of northern Italy. Each of them has its own peculiar
system and protocol.
