  1. Hi, all!

Well, had DH take my picture in my new outfit a couple of days ago and I've
finally uploaded them. Can't get them onto my site for some reason, but
here is the Webshots link to them.

  4. Your new picture looks great. Keep up the good work.
By the way, your site tries to install "weathercast", which is adware.
Since I have the updated service pack for win98SE, it didn't install
automatically like it usually does when these sites are visited. This
particular adware program causes my computer to slow down and eventually
crash after an hour of run time. Like I mentioned, sometimes these ad
programs automatically install themselves without the visitors awareness. I
realize you have no control over this, but I just want to warn others of the
potential problems. They are usually difficult to remove as well unless a
    spyware removal software is used.

Yay! Congrats to your great success! Keep going all the way to your goal.

  11. I agree about the sweater hiding my success! But I just HAD to have it (if
not for those COLD winter nights when I'm freezing because I no longer have
    that layer of 'blubber!'😉

Oh, my heavens! You look incredible! What a difference.

It's not just that you look so much prettier at your current
weight--though you do--but that you also look 10 years younger and in
    the pink of health.

    Congratulations on your amazing progress!

  13. Thanks for your compliments, T.! I've never considered myself pretty, but I
love your '10 years younger' remark!! LOL! You're right about being in the
pink of health. I feel WONDERFUL on this diet.

Lady, I have always enjoyed your pictures - especially the one on your
website that shows you sitting in the same chair in a "before" and "during"
    shot.

What follows is just my opinion. I am very glad you like your new outfit,
but I don't think it does anything for you. It is time for you to stop
wearing bulky sweaters that hang down mid-thigh and hide your shape. Women
who have been fat are so used to hiding their bodies under circus tents,
that they don't always realize how much more flattering it is to wear
something that stops at the waist. Your shape came back a long time ago -
you might not yet have the figure you want, but I think you do have a figure
that will look much better if it is allowed to show.

One of the things I hate about having to buy clothes in the "women's"
section is that almost nothing there is waist length - everything hangs down
halfway to my knees, which really just makes me look fatter - even when I
was at my heaviest, my waist was considerably smaller than my hips. Now
it's even more dramatic. People notice my weight loss when I wear something
fitted - not when I wear something shaped like muu-muu.

I understand that a long, cozy sweater can be nice for warmth - but I
encourage you to get some shorter or fitted outfits too. You should show
off your tremendous progress! Quit hiding!

  17. Carla,

Thanks very much for sharing your opinion (I really mean that!) I know what
you mean about wearing more form-fitting outfits. I always get more
compliments from friends at work when I pull out the smaller clothes. And I
have been so excited to be able to shop in the 'smaller' section of the
store. The clothes I have gotten from friends and bought new are smaller
and, with the exception of the sweater, form fitting.

I guess my mindset is still in that transitional phase. I'm very
self-conscious about my fat 'rolls' (you know, the ones you get up top from
under your bra on the sides and back.) I know that they are at least not as
big as they were, if not gone altogether. That's always been a big issue
    with me.

I am getting better about picking out clothing that looks good on me. Since
I have been 'fat' just about all of my life, some habits are really hard to
    break.

    Thanks again!

Great! I knew I was reacting based upon one photograph of one sweater; for
all I know you walk around in slinky form-fitting cocktail dresses the rest
of the time. Okay, that admittedly seems unlikely.

I know just what you mean - I hate them too; they are probably my least
    favorite body part.

Here's how I often handle that, while still wearing clothes that show my
shape: I often wear sweater sets - a close-fitting sweater under an open,
looser-fitting sweater - or a light sweater under an open blazer. This way,
the relatively close-fitting inner layer highlights the good parts of my
shape, while the outer layer hides the rolls you mentioned.

I agree, and for those of us who are still stuck in the women's section, the
clothing designers don't make it any easier by assuming that we all still
    want to wear circus tents.
