He abandoned after a crash.

It's an interesting stage.

Good to see the Galicia rider, Aczevedo getting some publicity on the front of the race.
He did look surprised though to be joined by Roy of FDJ.

Vigo looks to be a lovely place.
Presumably that's the home of the Spanish football team Celta Vigo???

Danieli Bennati made that win look very easy.

I finally got it to work, but not by the direct link.

I agree. I love the TDF but the Giro was better this year.

Very good sprinting by Bennati and not the best timing by Milram's train.

Really? I thought Milram gave him a pretty good leadout but Bennati had two things going for him:

1. He was spot on -- in very good form (and good position)
2. He + Pettachi boxed in Freire

The second was probably the bigger thing as you could see Freire stop pedaling and he still got second right behind Benatti.

I've got impression they left him (Peta) too early on his own... 10 - 20 meters more of lead out and he would have won it. Just my impression.

Petacchi never had the legs. Boonen had good speed, but more protection.

Looking at that, Boonen, Freire, Bennati will dominate the sprints. Petacchi could not open up his sprint after Zabel swung off, he really struggled to get any speed. It was like a perfect leadout for Bennati.

Mcewen would have won that by about 5 lengths had he waited in Petas wheel.

Milram gotta go back to the drawing board.

Milram (team manager Gianluigi Stanga) also agreed saying that the reason Pettachi didn't have the legs is because of the stress he had to go through with the doping allegations and investigation. So he needs to get back into shape.
