Being succinct is good but perhaps you could provide some details on the protocol and measurement tools. -
If you can hold 4.75 w/kg for 5 minutes that puts you roughly in the Cat3 category as far as power output is concerned. There are lots of other factors that affect competency, however.

5 minute blocks increasing at 50 watt per block, then increasing ten watts every minute till failure (at app 350 watts) VO2 was measured with a respiratory mask. VO2 max was 4.75 litres total/ not/per kg. per kg should be 67.86 ml/perkg

Without doing a lot of searching, off the top of my head:
You don't give your gender.There are some numbers available that show women at the world class level with lower numbers.
There is some data on the web for top ten riders in the Giro and Tour that shows them to have numbers in the 80's, but then again, they don't list the exact protocol.
You don't list your age or your training history which would play a part in evaluating your number.
Do you own a power meter or is the vo2 max test the only time you have used a power meter?

I am a man 25 years old. Only high intensity training at the moment, low k,s.
I have used powermeter training tools before.
The guy who did the test is doing some clinical trial. He gave me what he called my threshold and then he tells me he is going to make me ride at 15% above this level for 90 minutes. The figure he gave me (threshold+15%) seems easy but the threshold figure then seems way too low. I thought even a few minutes above your threshold should hurt. This threshold was 78% of VO2max. he said i should be able to raise the threshold to above 80% quite easily.

I think he has defined threshold as something near 2.0mmol/l of blood lacate. Some people call the level of intensity in this area the lactate threshold. (Google on "lactate threshold" for more about determining this in various ways.) +15% would be near what many people call "tempo", so yes, you could probably do that for 90 minutes, or close to it, and it is very trainable considering your comment about having done mostly high(er) intensity training so far.

Funnily enough, 4.75 w/kg is actually very close to my 5 min max.
Any take on the Vo2 max data?

I should be good to ride Saturday and Sunday. Time will tell. Your figures look pretty good to me, I'll be lucky to suck your wheel on Sunday.

From this I assume you know your power profile. Should the question then be, what can I learn from my vo2 max that I can't learn from my power profile or what should compare with your power profile or mmp curve?My 5 minute max is about 10% higher than that and I am a mediocre cat 4 racer, another poster to this forum has a 5 minute max close to that and will soon be upgrading to cat 3 here in the US.
Those two numbers are only part of the story.

Yeah a VO2 of 4.75 means nothing without a body mass measurement. If you're 100kg and your VO2 is 4.75 that's pretty weak actually. When my brother in law was pro his VO2 gross was 7.2. This was probably average for a small-time pro. Professional, but not world cup professional.If your VO2 is 67.8mL/kg or whatever, that's pretty sweet. Depends on where you want to go though with it. The 'average' VO2 or minimum requirement I read for endurance sports is 55ml/kg. Pretty weak. In order to race though, a minimum of 62mL/kg is better, with a MAP of 5.4W/kg.
For pro, as high as possible of course. The world's best VO2 was a Swedish XC skiier who recorded 95mL/kg O2. Lance's threshold power I think was like 525W, and he's 71.7kg. I could be wrong here, but yeah. Whatever your VO2 is, at 67 or so, that's pretty good man. You sound almost identical to me...my 5 minute power was also ~4.75W/kg and my VO2 was similar as well. As good as it is compared to an average man, it's not going to win me a lot of races I think...

not so sure *here*. i've frequently explained what LT is (which isn't as you describe) in the past, and the message seems to have gotten across.

That would be your ventilatory (a.k.a. "anaerobic"😉 threshold then, not your lactate threshold as others have assumed.

What's the correlation between ventilatory threshold and lactate threshold (if any) in your opinion?
