  1. Good Morning from Montreal All :-)

Can I get a few opinions on the value of a general vitamin
suppliment with regards to type II? Is a general
multivitamin a good or bad thing?

    Thanks in Advance

I take them, and some other supplements as well, as
indicated by my dietician and Dr.

    Howdy Franz,

Can't hurt to take a multivitamin, diabetic or not.

  4. Franz Personally, if you are eating a well balanced diet
with plenty of fresh vegetables and following your food
pyramid, why spend the money. Few vitamins can be stored by
the body therefore all excess is excreted. The only thing
that gets lean is your wallet. If there is a reason you
cannot eat a balanced diet then perhaps you need it but it
    is unlikely. Larry D NJ

But if you are a T2 and are controling your diabetes by
eating a low carb diet then forget the food pyramid and take
    your vitamin pill.

  7. There used to be doctor show in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mostly old
docs. The consensus was that if a person has a balanced diet
they will not need vitamins. However since we seem to
deviate from a balanced diet it may be OK to take a good
multivitamin as a precaution. The claims of the sellers is
like the fellow selling cars that are junkers. He has a
motive to lie. Consult with your doc. Today, the standard
tests, most docs use will spot some problems. The old docs
could look at you and spot a lot of the problems.

It is worth noting that in recent times certain severe birth
defects could be greatly reduced by use of folic acid,

Some diabetics swear that certain supplements are useful. So
see the doc for this type of advice. Guy,
