Hello again , Has anyone heard ๐ of a bike brand called a Velocita? My LBS guy has one for sale , full carbon frame, sora gearing etc. It looks like a nice bike for $2.500, I was just wondering if these bikes are any good, thnx ,

I don't know anything about this frame, but it comes under the Progear brand. If you look around you can find the same frame (Progear Velocita Carbon) with 20 speed 105 setup for $AU1999: -
Thanks very much for the info, ill look into that and see why he's selling for that price , might be able to get a better deal ?now that i know that , thnx again ,

If it was $2500, I'd buy this one anyday...
In fact even if it was $1999, I'd buy the Giant still... -
Thnx for the feedback, So are you saying that the giant is the way to go mate. Im looking more and more toward the giant too. tnx

Well because the streets are filled with Giants, I can pretty much say that they make decent bikes. The TCR Composite is a very nice bike and will stand up to anything you throw at it.
I really dont know anyone with a Velocita so cannot comment on the quality. But for that $2000-$2500 price range, you can buy a lot these days. Dont overlook bikes on special like 05 models made by Specialized, Giant, Avanti...
Good luck

We sell this same bike with 105 20 speed for $1999, or same frame bike (Victor) with Ultegra for $2299. The frame is very very good. It is coincidentally the same frame used on the DiamondBack Racing DBR Dura Ace bike.

The more I hear about Giant bikes the more im leaning toward them. The guy I ride with has had a Giant for the last six years and cannot fault it. Im 98% sold on one that iv'e seen at the LBS. Its's A TCR2 2006 Giant 105 gear, it was $2.999, the guy told me I can have it for $2.549 with pedals, sounds good to me! I'll keep you posted , Thnx alot for all the advice it,s been a big help ,

I recently bought a bike from cellbikes to see if I like road riding. (My last bike was a MTB and I haven't ridden in a few years and I'm 40 in sept).
I did notice the Velocita http://www.cellbikes.com.au/product.php?id=123&PHPSESSID=ea02c1ff6f9db8f529598e40ea25abe5 for $1999 full carbon with 20sp 105.
The 105 groupset certainly seems to be the minimal serious groupset.
$2500 for the Velocita with sora groupset sounds very expensive. Even the Trek 1400 reviewed in the latest ride magazine is $2,199 and has 105 groupset.
If I do pickup road riding I will be looking for a ride between $2-2,500. So much choice in that price range though.

Has the Velocita frame with 105 gear been discontinued? I cannot find it on www.cellbikes.com.au. Any new models on the horizon?

The Velocita does seem to be the generic carbon frame that anyone can buy, stick their brand on, and build up. I've seen the same, or very similar, around a few of the cheaper bike shops.
