I eat my 3 cup green stuff salad with one Roma tomato, three sweet
pepper rings for may vegs. Im not big on cooked vegs, anyway and this
leaves me room for a lo-carb ice cream bar (5gms) and a slice of lo-carb
wholegrain bread (5 gms).
That's enough carbs, for me. Although I did buy a lo-carb chocolate
"milk" at 2 gms/8 oz...which is quite a delight. Tastes more or less
like the chocolate soy milk I used to buy. probably IS, LOL-- should
read the carton with my MAX, I suppose.
I dont see any point in stuffing in more carbs than I want...especially
in the form of cooked vegetables. My big salad is actually more veggies
than I used to eat and of a better nutritional quality, as well, since
the cooked veggies I like are the high-carb ones....corn, beans,
potatoes....
I love watching your middle number go down in your sig and was hoping that
you'd get over that scale phobia thing 🙂.
I'd been doing 30 for a few weeks and am still losing well so I'm doing 35
now. I usually have a hard time getting UP to that number but I figured
with 35 I can have a glass of milk every day - which I really love - and not
worry about it too much. 8 oz. is 13 gm according to the carton. And I've
also been working on increasing my fiber because of the health benefits of
that especially with my cardiovascular disease, colon cancer in the family,
etc. So that fills me up and keeps the net count low.
I also love the salads, and love vegetables any way I can get them - raw or
cooked. I've been using my own biscuit/bread at less than 1 gm/piece, but
only a couple a day because I've discovered that when I eat more grains
(even though I make it with at least 50% fiber) I tend to get a little logy.
Not bad, and it doesn't seem to affect my rate of loss, just not the usual
zip that I've gotten used to on low carb.
And now it's time for my eggs and sausage (2 gm per 3 pieces) for breakfast,
and while I fix it I will marvel at how I can eat those foods and just keep
shrinkin'...that will never get old to me - lol!
