There's a great shop on the west edge of town, left side of the road,
on the main drag just before you leave that particular type of
"ciilization" on the way to the Red Rocks climbing area, etc., that
runs tours and rents bikes. They were a great group. If I remember
the name, I'll holler.

On my road trip through there, the owner and main wrench stayed late to
do some repairs, and didn't even stick us with a tourist-premium cost
increase.

If you can get to Bootleg Canyon, do it.

Thanks for the info. How far from the strip is Bootleg?

I googled and came up with Boulder City Outfitters, Las Vegas Cyclery,
McGhie's Bike Outpost.... Any ringing a bell?

I've been to that shop too and also don;t remember the name. It's in a
little strip mall on the left as you head West.

Red Rocks is pretty convenient and really fun riding, but maybe you know
that already. I got a map of the RR area from that shop.

Las Vegas Cyclery. And I have to put a plug in for the Cottonwood/Blue
Diamond trail network. I haven't bothered going to Bootleg Cyn yet
because there's such a wealth of trails at Cottonwood Valley/Blue
Diamond. However, it looks like there might be closure issues at
Cottonwood due to fire and re-seeding efforts.

Depending on traffic and where you start from Bootleg can be anywhere
from 40 minutes to 75 minutes from Vegas, and Cottonwood 30 minutes to
45 minutes.

some new trails planned for this Spring/Summer. Can't hardly wait.

That's what usually happens to me in Vegas. If I head to Laughlin I
have a better chance of getting some riding in, less distractions, no
one under the age of 60 except for me.
