  1. since dermatologists suggest that the skin be protected from the sun even
when it is cloudy, so too the eyes? however, i think it is not healthy to
wear sunglasses more than necessary because the brain likes everyday light
    through the eyes..
    comments?

  2. The UV hardens the eye parts and causes premature aging just like it does
with skin. I have oftern wondered that photo-grey and dark sunglasses can
cause depression in people wearing them also. We need the sun on our
retinas, especially in the mornings say the SADS people.

I think the brain does just fine behind sunglasses.

I wonder why you think that. What about something as basic as melatonin
(wake-sleep balancing)? I know that my body craves daylight..

  5. Certainly, the eyestrain that comes with reduced light should not be
dismissed either. The body as well as the eyes love light. Many senior
citizens who never wore sunglasses, who spent real time outdoors (not like
the office workers of today), have good, healthy eyes that need only
    spectacle correction.

  6. "senior citizens" over 40?

    Yes.

No. Sun is necessary for the eyes.

No, the brain needs sunlight if you want to use it more than how do the idiots.

Spectacle correction is a fact of stupid people.

If they were more intelligent, they could have enquired in how to
discard glasses forever and get fine eyes all life long.

See Oliver Wendell Holmes famous "The Autocrat at the Breakfast Table"
and search for "dioptrics". You will be surprised.

That is true, light is important. You can provide protection for the
eyes by eating foods rich in carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin e.g.
spinach, romaine lettuce, orange bell peppers ans so on. Lutein and
zeaxanthin seem to protect against UV-radiation.

Since when do sunglasses block all sunlight? A good pair of sunglasses
filter UV rays and reduce light intensity and glare, but by no means do they
block sunlight (duh, how could you see if they did?).

Sunglasses don't block sunlight. You would be blinded by them if they did.
    Get a clue.

  12. Now, sunglasses cause blindness?

Everyone knows that sunglasses _reduce_ the amount of sunlight received
by the brain through the eyes. There are plenty of nutritional means to
protect the eyes. By protecting the eyes through nutritional means
(e.g. lutein and zeaxanthin) you get the benefits of light and the
necessary protection the eyes need. You need sunglasses only in extreme
    conditions.

  14. You cannot undo UV damage by supplementation.

How do you know this? Do some simple Google search and you'll find
easily that lutein and zeaxanthin protect the eyes against
    UV-radiation.

There is no need of any supplementation if you are in good health and
are accustomed to the natural sun during the day.

There is a man in the US who is living without eating since nine years
after three years of study of the sun-gazing ancient method of
    meditation.

    He needs only water.

    Now please explain.

    What citations do you need?
Try to live one month without sunlight then tell me.
