  1. Okay okay...I was watching the TDF "again" (I have Tivo) I'm a fanatic, but I could've sworn that I saw people handing out the newspaper to racers in the middle of a stage? Could someone please explain this to me? What in God's name do they use it for? When they run off into the woods to have a BM? (bowel-movement) Read and Wipe? Please someone explain this to me!! Thanks....

Am I on drugs?? Yes or no?

  2. In the mountain stages the riders stuff the newspaper down the front of their jerseys for wind protection on the descents and ditch it for the climbs

alternately it migt be to see how many times they get mentioned.....

SERIOUSLY? Shows what I DON'T know about road riding (tons by the way). And all this time I've been using Windstopper to stop the wind. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world (at least here in Oregon apparently). You learn something new everyday...

    K.🙂

  4. yeah seriously

if they wore a windstopper they would have to carry it up the next hill and thats 500gm extra to carry

newspaper is free and its sort of a tradition i guess

  5. hahah....great! i thought i was going crazy!
Damn...i'd like to see that along side an ad for nike windstopper gear! $100 my ass! Gimme a quarter to buy the paper! and for the really really cold days...toss me the Sunday paper...Thanks for the info! Anythin other wierd bits of info that most of us probably dont know?

Ooooh i don't know if you want to go there, i'm a sink of useless information

  7. C'mon Duckwah - surprise us :-D

  8. yeah yeah...share the wisdom!! : P

  9. The other use for newspaper is for drying wet cycling shoes - stuff them with sheets of paper, then remove the paper after an hour or so. This suck a lot of the moisture out of the shoes, and is quickler than drying them in front of the heater (not good for leather).

  10. hmmm...keep em coming!

  11. well i don't know where do you want me to start, i' not a big cycling history freak but i know a bit about materials science, aerodynamics, a lot about chemistryetc

pick an obscure technical question and i'll see if i can give you an answer

*note to self, what the hell have i just got myself into*
