  1. Whats the real benefit of obsessing over cadence data during indoor cycling sessions? Are we actually seeing tangible improvements in our outdoor performance or are we just geeking out over useless metrics?

    Dont get me wrong, Im all for tracking progress and optimizing my training, but Ive always thought that the standard 80-100 RPM range recommended by most coaches and training apps is a bit too narrow. What about those of us who naturally spin at 110 RPM or higher? Are we somehow less efficient or less effective just because we dont fit the mold?

    Ive seen plenty of riders who focus so much on cadence that they neglect other, arguably more important, aspects of their training like power output, proper form, and actual cardiovascular fitness. And lets be real, who among us hasnt suffered through a soul-crushing erg session only to realize that our average cadence was a whopping 82 RPM?

    Whats the point of it all, anyway? Is it truly making us better cyclists, or are we just grasping at straws trying to justify our obsessive-compulsive need for data?
