My son brought home 3 lbs of morels last night. I'm not able to get
right to them and wonder what the best way to keep them a couple of
days would be. They're in the fridge in a plastic bag, which I will
not do any longer. I know some people soadk them in salt water, but I
may not get to them tomorrow either. Halve them, lightly wash, and
place between damp paper towels on a tray in the fridge? Put them as
is in a paper bag? Help!

I suggest you call the produce manager of your finest local grocery
store. They know all sorts of things! -

a paper bag and out of plastic!!!I can keep/store Oyster and button 'shrooms that way for at least 3 to 5
days.......Morels. 3 lbs.

away. I plan to dehydrate some of them, but mine requires periodic
tray shuffling and rotating - guess I'll set my alarm every 2 hours.
I did this 4 years ago, then wrapped them and froze them. A year
later I hydrated them in warm water and they were pretty good. Thanks
for the input. -

The produce manager at the Schnuck's store I shop is excellent! There
certainly are idiots out there, but there are also some very bright,
helpful people, too.
