That sounds great. I just had a vasectomy last Friday and I'm dying to
get back on the bike. However, my one-piece bike seat looks rather
daunting.

Wait a few days. I was back on the bike in less than 8 days
post-procedure, and I ride Brooks B-17's. Since you apparently had
yours on the 8th, you should be up and running now without problems.
