  1. Is there anything yummy and easy that can be done with unsweetened bakers
chocolate? I have a bar and was wondering if i could use it on Atkins
    Induction somehow.

    Thanks!

  2. Melt some shavings in some Cream and water, heat it up, add some
    cinnamon and some splenda....MMMM

Just remember, splenda has one carb per packet, and Cream has 1 carb
    for every 2 tablespoons.

Speaking for myself, I've gotten a lot of pleasure from time to time to
just *leave* the darn thing unsweetened and melt it with a bit of
(pure) nut butter, freeze it to harden, and just savor the bitter taste
mixed with the mellow flavor of the nuts.

If you are the type to use synthetic sweeteners, then you can add splenda
or whatever the latest is in sweeteners. YMMV

Hey Roger...I am getting back to induction because I let myself slide &
slide with all the birthdays, holidays and parties until I was eating
chocolate, cake, junkfood, PB&J sandwiches, pizza, pasta, heros - all the
old bad habits. So, when I thought I could just pull things together I found
I was having huge cravings, no will power and feeling generally awful. I
hadn't really gained much back - maybe 1lb but I felt terrible and was
hooked on sugar again. I really got caught up in all the stress and let my
    eating go to hell.

I have been on induction "for real" since monday, I had a transition week
before that :o) I am starting to feel better but it's funny how in only a
month I feel like I forgot how to be LC! I am starting over. I am seeing the
craving and obsessive food thoughs starting to fade. I have 22lbs to lose
(to reach my made up goal - that may change as I get closer to it) so I want
to get back to induction to kickstart the weightloss too.

Wish me luck (but today I feel like I need that less than I did on monday!)

chocolate is not on the list of foods you can eat during induction.

    so the answer is no.

it's only two weeks. suck it up, sister.

    Your response is useless.

I know the rules of induction and there is no reason you can't eat
    unsweetened chocolate.

so...how 'bout you just suck it

Only 1 lb gained after all that. Hurray for you!

It won't take long to get your bearing. One theory of mine is that it is a
good idea to come off LC every once in a while and then reel yourself back
in. With practice, it becomes very easy.

    <snipped>

The chocolate and cakes aren't that worrying. It's the obssessive food thoughts
    that are worrying.

I have a question - what do you mean by baker chocolate? do you mean that
they're chocolate bars/bits made of 100% cocoa? If not, then even baker
chocolate have sugar in them, so may be it's not a good idea to have any while
    you're doing Induction.

chocolate, whether sweetened or not, is not on the list of foods for
    induction.

why is this so hard for people to understand? if you're following
induction, you eat from the foods on the "approved" list. if you eat
other stuff, you're not doing induction. you might be at induction
levels of carbs, but you're *not* following the plan as it's written.

fair point - cocoa / chocolate got caffine. just for the record - at its purest
form cocoa powder has 10.5g net carb, 23.1g protein and 20.8g fat per 100g
according to my cadbury tub sitting on my desk...
