There are really 2:

1) A flick of the elbow on the side you want them to come through on. This is typically the side
sheltered from the wind.

2) What Ullrich did: make a horizontal circle with your finger indicating the direction of the
desired rotation of the paceline.

Usual one is sweeping one hand from above back wheel to above front wheel and pointing angrily at
the unoccupied road ahead of the front wheel.

It occasionally goes wrong if you do it just when someone's decided to come past on that side to do
some work...

I think armstrong did it earlier too, on tourmalet? It seemed that the Euskatel riders were sucking
on all day.
