Question: Unicycle Clothing, Good Or Bad?

    - Great Idea, I love wearing unicycle gear!
    - No way, I wouldn't wear any of that stuff!
    - Maybe, I don't know.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been thinking about this topic alot recently and I thought I
would get the general concensus. I enjoy wearing my unicycle clothing,
what little I have of it for a number of reasons. Because no one else I
know has it, because it advertises unicycling to the people I know and
because it makes me feel like part of something, I suppose. Skaters
have there own brands and we've all seen football strips and basketball
jerseys, is unicycle clothing the future? The popularity of the Bedford
Pro rider series suggests yes and at UNICON there were countless riders
with Koxx one shirts and couple of us with unicycle.com. Is there a
possibility that the current ranges will expand?

This is a poll, but I want to hear all your seperate opinions as well,
so leave as many comments as you feel is enough.

  2. Yes, I think if it was more accesible, more people would wear it. Like
if there was a whole site dedicated to selling clothing. I've seen many
people post their t-shirt creations, but it seems none of them actually
    get made.

  3. Yes ofcourse. I'm obsessed with unicycling. I'm proud of being able to
unicycle. I like wearing the t shirts.

  4. Another thing is cost. I would wear nothing but unicycle clothing if I
had it, but they usually cost a bit more, PLUS you have to pay
    shipping. 🙁

  5. To paraphrase Bart Simpson (since I don't remember the exact quote):

I'm naked and riding a unicycle. I'm living every boy's dream.

  6. I can understand that forrest, but would you not feel better about
paying more for a unicycling shirt knowing that the money will be going
back into unicycling. I especially think it is a good idea as an
injection of money into unicycling through clothing sales could lead to
better sponsorship for riders. I think it's a crime that some of the
best riders in the world weren't at UNICON just because they couldnt
    afford to be there.

But anyway, thats another topic for another time.

    keep it coming.

  7. yeh go on qu ax bring out the qu ax pro rider series, lol anyone one a
buy one haha, na i really like some clothing but for me it has to have
some sort of style to it, the ones with a clever pun on it just dont do
anything for me, trinny or susana lol(english joke) love the bedfords
and koxx devil one is nice but doesnt actually have anything that
identifies it with unicycling unless you have heard of koxx one or koxx
    devil

  8. Yeah Lucas I know what you mean. I don't think I would go about wearing
a t-shirt with the words "One Wheel is Better" or something of the
sort. As much as I hate saying this, the kind of "skate-type" clothing
like the Koxx shirts is what I like. You know, with something kinda
kool on it and the name of the brand and I do like my unicycle.com t
shirt. The Bedford shirts are a stroke of genius. I would definately buy
a Lucas Wintercrane Pro rider shirt, no questions asked.

  9. i dont think youve really thought it through much. i cant be bothered to
explain why i think this so heres the convo i had with mike about it.

    Amanda says:
well youve seen tshirt threads before... everyone likes different
things. by the time you have enough selection that people will like at
least a couple of things, you will have spend LOADS on production which
you will probably never redeem in profits
    Mike says:
    yea, true
    Mike says:
it is hard to find styles everyone likes
    Mike says:
    mm, goodpoint
    Amanda says:
like for instance, you walk into Animal. i know its not skate but meh.
i can look round the whole shop, lots of clothes and not find one thing
    i like.
    Amanda says:
and then you have to split it into two... girls and boys
    Amanda says:
    thats double the production again

yeah sure, everyone thinks its a great idea, it would be cool to have
it like skaters/surfers do, but unicycling is still tiny compared to
them so the demand isnt as big.

sorry if this doesnt explain much to do with what i mean, if it doesnt
i'll try explain again when my brain is working a bit better.

  10. I understand what you're saying and I know exactly what you mean. At the
moment Darren Bedford is selling the pro-rider tops at a loss, purely to
promote the riders. If that's not a great guy I don't know what is! But
like I said that's a whole other topic, right now I just want to know
what people's opinions of unicycle clothing are, I think it's best to
leave the logistics for another thread.

Thanks for your input anyway Amanda.

  14. You know, if Darren had a nice easy to use website (like UDC) with
pictures of each PRO shirt and prices up front easy to use, the sales
    would explode....

Shirts like the Bedford pro are best, they have an actual picture of
"extreme unicycling" in action. I don't really like silly phrases or
slogans, although I have a Mountain uni (do the dew) shirt that's cool,
but no one but other unicyclists know what it means.

I believe that is profoundly correct, and not just his tee shirt sales.
ALL his sales. I can't fathom why he hasn't made the investment in a

equipment, and his main website doesn't even have a link to them. With
his great service and tendency to not screw up orders, adding a good
photo-rich website with pricing would definitely let him take more
business away from his main competitor(s).

    I too have to agree.
If he is not computer savvy to make a website, I am sure there is
someone on this site that would love to trade a Uni or something for a
    cool website...
