  1. I was fascinated by the book "Ultramarathon Man" by Dean Karnazes. Are
there any competitive triathlon's which go beyond the ironman
    distrances? Thanks.

Yes there are doubles and triples. I read a good account of a woman
doing a triple that I wanted to post the link to the list, but I can't
    find it anymore.

  3. I remember reading a race report from a woman who did a triple in I
    believe 60 hours.

I don't think these are competitive in quite the same way, though. The
double and triple launch at the same time, and there are only about
half a dozen people in each, so it's just a "can I finish" kind of
    thing.

Personally, I have no interest in shuffling through 78.6 miles after 40
hours with no more than a powernap or two's worth of sleep, but that's
just me. If you decide to do it, more power to you!

That is the one I was thinking of!!!

But the link you posted only seems to have to first page or so.

I thought it was good read. Maybe for those of you who are finding
single ironmen distances too routine could try one of these ;-)

Well, Ironman Wisconsin actually has about 27 miles of running if you
    count the crazy-long transition area!
