Sigh. Thanks for posting that. There's something sweet and wonderful
about a simple housewife achieving immortality. I always felt a
personal attachment to her: as a barely-parented kid, I saw her more
than my mom. Such a class act.

I spent my days in front of the tv watching sesame street, julia child and bob
ross.
I loved Julia, I totally wanted to cook like her because she looked like she
was so happy doing it. Bob Ross was just condescending.

I think Bob Ross died an untimely death. I never painted in his style, but
I thought he was a friendly kind of guy. Funny how people have different
opinions. There was another guy around about the same time, that I
watched,too, who was always saying that he was taking his 'mighty brush' to
do this or that. He was a kick.

Yes, it's amazing to me that she became so successful at something she
had no interest in or desire for before her mid-30's. Her marriage and
move to Paris was what did it. Ya never know what's waiting around the
corner, huh?

Bob painted "happy trees, happy creeks, happy landscapes" and I loved
listening to him talk. Such a 70's hippy happy nice guy, in the days
when PBS was the only interesting television you could find. I did
hear something about his death, but I don't remember specifics...he was
too young, I was thinking.

my brother has a shirt that says "happy little trees" with a picture of
Bob Ross on it. If it were my size, I'd try to permanently borrow it.

I think Bob Ross died an untimely death. I never painted in his
style, but I thought he was a friendly kind of guy. Funny how people
have different opinions. There was another guy around about the same
time, that I watched,too, who was always saying that he was taking
his 'mighty brush' to do this or that. He was a kick.
Bill Alexander who spoke with what sounded like a thick Hungarian
accent. Terrible painter. Saw him once paint a marine scene with a boat
that had a guy on it. Looked kindergarten. Guy was sticks.
But Bob Ross was cool. The only people I knew like him were always
deeply stoned. And seemed to really want me to paint along with him. I'm
ashamed I never did, like I was secretly disappointing him...
No, seriously...
