In the light of the latest news coming out of Spain, according to which the information from the Operación Puerto investigation cannot be used for sports-disciplinary proceedings, Discovery Channel is reported to have made the first move on Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich, who may be free to choose a new team if he is cleared. Spanish AS.com reports that Johan Bruyneel has made the German champ an offer to lead his team during the next season.
The last I heard he was not planning a comeback but I hope this changes. Discovery has been courting him for some time now.I would like to see him at Discovery just to throw some people into a seizure Jan will need to make a move soon if he is going to get in form. He says he is about 50% now and serious winter training starts soon.

Strohband denied that Discovery made an offer (in German media) but... that could also be a tactical move....
I hope he will come back but i also would understand if he has had enough...
Its better than his American..... for the life I me I don't know why you guys always think he can't speak English ? Maybe because you don't get cycling on TV over there in the US you never hear him speak in English.... Jan can speak English and speak it very well.......
Of course, that means that Jan would have to begin doing something he really doesn't like to do - give interviews in English...
I thought you were going to write 'train hard' .. 🙂
Anyway.. Ulle seems pretty screwed if he has to wait until he is cleared. "We think you have done something wrong, we're not sure if or how we should prove it, but in the mean time you're suspended". What a mess.

I admit, WBT, that us Americans spend a lot of time thinking up stupid questions in an effort to ruin your day. But come on, man, it isn't always us.

Then again most American's think everyone speaks English and can't understand that in some countries they don't ! Similar to data formats and timezones... ! LOL !
Yes, you spelled it correctly. Although one might wonder what kind of team they will provide to support him for his effort to re-win the TdF! 😉
Isn´t uci doing is best to keep the pro circuit clean of dopping? They will be a lot more competetive. Wild card because of Jan. No TTT. and Jan wins because Hamilton is DSQ by a positive control. Dam those french labs.😄
If he wants Mcquaid and Uci to leave him alone that will be a smart move.
As a fan. I think he should go to amore & vita ( it is spell like that isn´t?)
Agreed on both points - I would like JU to race again. But I would imagine alot more legal water under JU's bridge before he can sign for a team. But a move to an American based team would be a good choice for him to get away from the hounding German media as well.

Although I believe Jan is a world-class rider, our roster for 2007 is nearly complete and Jan will not be a part of our team." thepaceline.com

You know, for someone who rags on American English speakers as much as you do, your posts are some of the most poorly written in this forum. Continue ragging if you want, doesn't bother me, but I felt compelled to point out the hypocrisy.

Roster nearly complete? - DSC has let alot of riders go at the end of the season, about 11 I think and signed 4 or 5?
