  1. Peaked too late for the TdF and too early for the TdG it seems...not
sure he can take 56 seconds out of Lepi on the 31k ITT, maybe he can
take some time on the less steep Feldberg finish

    Ullrich will do it.

Do what, take some time in the Feldberg ? Not unlike the Schlucht I
think and he was very impressive there so it's possible. I don't think
he can take out 60s to Lepi on a 30k ITT though.

Ullrich is not a mountain goat, and he isn't happy on super-steep
gradients. He's too much of a time-trialist to change his rhythm on the
fly. Maybe if the climb was a constant 5% for 54 km, then he could win.

The TT is flat, so I think Ullrich will easily take 50 seconds out of a much
smaller rider like Levi. He took nearly 3 minutes out of him in a 46k TT a
few weeks ago on a course that was much more suited to Levi.

Levi's got to add another minute to his margin on Sunday if he hopes to win
    the overall.

  6. Ullrich can beat Levi over some 31 km by 3 minutes! Now, I'm sure that
Levi will have a lot of added motivation (hear that Odessa?) and that
Ullrich isn't in the shape he was in July but I stated before that Levi
would need almost two minutes on Ullrich and I'll stand by that
    prediction.

Levi and his DS share my opinion-

"Having 50 seconds' advantage on Ullrich isn't enough," Leipheimer told
Eurosport. "Especially before Monday's time trial, which suits him really
    well."

Fifty six seconds over 30km is less than 2sec/km.
That's not that much. I'm with you and Levi and
    Levi's DS.

    For example:
    2004 Tour stage 19, 3:05 in 55km, 3.36sec/km
    2005 Tour stage 20, 2:50 in 55km, 3.1 sec/km

And then there is stage 1 of this year's Tour,
0:05 in 19km. But my money is on 56 sec not
    holding up.

But what we saw was that Jan isn't in his Tour shape regardless of how fast
he can be. This makes me think that entering Jan was a last minute thought.

Leipheimer +54.40. Damn. 56 seconds would've held up.
