Gaw... I'm wide awake and just fed the livestock. Josh is crashed out
in the basement. Steven is still not home. I'm going to do a
breakfast casserole this morning and then I'm taking Jonsey out for a
run. This is Black Friday... or so they say. Anyone going shopping?
You wouldn't catch me at a shopping center today. Not in this
lifetime.
Dinner tonight? Yee Hawww... it's Turkey Tetrazini night...
UGH...
Not awake but then rarely am at this time of day!
No shopping! Some of those nutcases camped out o/n in the snow to get
the same things sold all year round. Sitting at home, neighbourhood is
quiet and plenty of food in the fridge and freezer.
The only reason I go out is because there are some *really* good deals
on certain items. It wasn't worth it to me to hang around in a line for
hours, htough, just to get the TV I wanted. I got to Meijer at the start
of the sale, and by the time I got to the electronics secion, they were
all gone. The people who camp out are crazy. Ellie woke up when I got
home, and we went to a local appliance store to pick up deeply
discounted housewares. Most of the people in line outside the store were
there for big screen HDTVs. I got there at 5 to 8, but they only let
about 40 people in the store at a time. I was so [censored]! I would
have not gone at all (at least not with Ellie) if I had known we would
have to wait almost a half hour in the cold just to be let into the
store *after* they were open. I now have (cheapish) stainless flatware,
service for 12, for less than 8 bucks, though, and .99/6 steak knives,
and a cheap deep fryer (I figure even if it conks out after a few uses,
It will be worth the purchase price just to not have to either throw out
or refrigerate used oil)

leftovers. Few sweet potatoes (topped with marshmallows in the
time-honoured way), little of the dreaded green bean casserole (green
beans and mushrooms and crispy onions), little of the dressing (with
dried/soaked chestnuts, celery, onion, apple, bread and a little
broth) and that's it. Some bread/rolls I made but most in the freezer.
Never had dessert so no leftovers there. Life is simple!
My mom froze most of our leftovers; we're having family for Shabbat
dinner tonight so we're having the usual chicken and a bunch of sides...
I like turkey, but I'm sick of it already, heh.
