Me and my brother have been using Continental Grand Prix 3000 tires for a few years and I had good experiences with them. Other people I know reccomend them as well, so there ya go.

it is hard to go past vittoria rubino pro's i reckon. they have lots of rubber and aren't too heavy or slow/dead. The best part is that they only cost about $30 Aus on www.probikekit.com

I guess it depends what you are looking for in your tires. But then, I would second drewjc's vote on Vittoria Rubino Pros.

I've always apreciated Continental Gator skins for their longevity and durability. They don't ride too badly either and have good wet traction (not that there's any rain at the moment!). I also rate the GP3000 (though they won't last as long) and the Michelin Pro Race (as long as you don't use them in the wet).
On the weekend at the Muswellbrook explorer I tried a set of brand spankers Hutchinson Fusion Comp Air light's whic were sent (as part of a batch of ten tyres) to my flatmate to test courtesy of Hutchinson and Pez.
These are very nice and very comfy to ride over the rough Hunter valley roads too and there's not a cut on them after 210km over the weekend (which included a couple of lengthy dirt road patches). Granted I would only ride them in races but they feel the goods.

I totally agree with the Conti guys and totally disagree with the Vittoria guys. i've never had a Vittoria that hasn't given me trouble. I have a bike in the shop atm that has Vittoria's and the moment we pumped them up the tread split from the sidewall. Go Conti! The Hutch's aren't bad either but are more expensive.

Does anyone recommend the michelin's pro? or pro race? or has anyone got any experciance with them?

Well if I hadn't been given the Hutchis for free I would probably never have realised how nice they are. I may be buying a set in the future.

Michelin Pro races are good too supple and fairly quick rolling (though I always pump up to or beyond max recommended pressure). Be carefull in the wet though.

It is dangerous to slam a product you have no experience with. Said that; I heard more tales of woe about Vittoria as about Continental.

Yes, VERY bad in the wet and seem to cut fairly easy. otherwise they're good!🙄

I'm also researching tires and would like to know if anybody has any experiance with Tufo tires?

i wrote this on the other post i wrote up yesterady, i got a giant OCR yesterday, today went out for a long ride and yesterday as well - after i bought it 🙂 and i got home and reaslised that the tyre went down, i took the tyre off and kind of notice that the tyre was very thin, few weeks ago i went one of my LBS and the guy was sayin that u get most punctures throught the sides and my "continental" tyres are very thin round the side, i finally found "it" it was a TINY piece of glass that had punctured through the top of the tyre, so i've been thinking of upgrading to better tyres....can anyone suggest any tyres that i could upgrade to?
