We've had dinner and watched the Carol Burnet Reunion thing. We had
a good time. Ramsey slept in my lap the entire time.
Michael
I woke up to find 'It's a Wonderful Life' on NBC. Remember when you
couldn't change a channel without seeing that damned movie? Thank
you NBC for buying the rights so we only see it about twicea year
rather than 35 times on every channel from November to January.
I wish I'd seen the Carol Burnett thing... that was such a funny
show. Bob Mackey was an absolute genious as a costume designer. I
had no idea he was as young as he is until he was honored on a
recent award show.
Jill
The people on there are all dead except Mackey. I love the show. I'm
taping it at 1pm today. Happy Xmas snookums. I'm trying to sleep but
can't. Are you and SO doing anything?
Michael
Nope. He got his mother out of the asylum, er, nursing home. She spent the
night at his place last night and will be busy today telling him how to burn
a turkey and screw up the gravy 😉
I'm about to cook some wild rice to add to my cornbread dressing. I think
I'll go hog wild and throw some mushrooms in it, too. What the heck, you
only live once (as far as I know). The cornish game hen will be liberally
brushed with butter and patted down with some thyme and sage and maybe some
tarragon prior to roasting. The broccoli will be steamed and served with
hollandaise and the brussels, they will be sprouting 🙂 Hot buttered wheat
rolls will go along nicely.
Persia will get a packet of turkey & giblets in gravy (courtesy of Margaret
Suran). She rarely gets to eat anything other than her prescription cat
food so it will be a real treat for her. Peaches the lovebird has already
been snacking on the cockatiel food Margaret also lovingly sent.
My gift to myself was a new pair of contact lenses and my new glasses will
arrive next Thursday. I'll be meeting my friend and former co-worker,
Bettie for lunch after I pick them up.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Jill
