  1. I had a half a pot of baked scalloped potatoes left over and wanted potato
soup. So, what to do? What do you think? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Add 1 cup of milk, 2 cups of
chicken stock. Season with black pepper and some cayenne for a little bite
to taste and I'll be darned, that was some good soup!

The scalloped potato recipe was the simple one from the Betty Crocker
cookbook. Google it; it's delicious ๐Ÿ™‚

I would've turned it into grilled walleye, served over rhubarb & mango
salsa, finished with a champaign - chive sauce, accompanied by pine-nut/sage
scented arborio rice, with fresh watermelon ice for dessert. Did you not
have any pine nuts on hand, Jill?

Yeah, like we all do? I'd probably have to drive for over an hour to find
    them where I live.

Really? i cn get em at the grocery if I want to pay and arm and a leg,
but I buy huge bags at BJs for 7.99. I need em handy for pesto when the
    basil's full grown.

Yeah, an arm and a leg. Those things are so tasty I want to eat them as
snacks which just isn't economical! No BJ's here (nor TJ's nor other
popular in other parts of the U.S. markets).

Yeah, but BJs carries basically the same thing as Sam's Club and
Costco. Thats' where I used to get em when I lived in NM. Check your
warehouse stores. HUGE bag! So many I can actually put em in trail mix
    for snacking!

Look also in the yellow pages for grocery wholesalers, especially if they
call themselves "cash & carry" outlets. These places service small
restaurants who aren't worth delivering to. They don't care who walks in
    with green cash money.

Don't forget to add a smidge of spring onion to the soup. The soup recipe
sounds about right but I usually just wing it when making it. I also like
    potato leek soup.

Too late now; it's all gone. Just had Chinese food delivered. I leave town
tomorrow afternoon so I don't want to deal with leftovers ๐Ÿ™‚
