  1. Hi guys, im an Italian bodybuilding that likes so much strength
training; so ive buyed from amazon some Tudor Bompa's books and
    Baechle's (nsca) books.
Yesterday is arrived serious strength training, and reading the book i
have not understood a thing: when he speaks about grade in the workouts
he says that must be "step-type" so there are a low one, a medium one
and a high one, BUT he means in the same microcicle or in the entire
    program?

    Is something like

    Microcicle 1>Grade Low> Day 1 2 3 // Microcicle2>grade Medium> Day 1 2
    3

    OR

    Microcicle 1>Day 1 Grade Medium>Day 2 Grade Low>Day 3 Grade High?

    Thank you
    Abrahm

    p,s, Sorry for my english!

  2. Anyone knows this book?

  3. Derrick, thank you for answering... I was speaking about Bompa's
cyclization phases and i was asking if he means the first example i
    made OR the second...

Sorry, I don't read books, but maybe he is talking about cycling intensity.

3 steps of intensity, low, med, and high. switch steps after some
    number of workouts.

If you benched 100 lbs for 10 reps max, then it might be something like
    this.

    day 1-3 75 lbs
    day 4-6 90 lbs
    day 7-9 100 lbs

If that is what this book is talking about, it is pretty solid advice.
search for "progressive load" on this news group.

Because of the word "phases" I would think the first example is the one
    he ment.

  6. Yes Bob, i think it too, but what do you think about alternating
phases, as the second example? Maybe more productive...

Personally I have been doing the second example for the last 6 months
and have made steady gains. I am thinking about switching it up now to
your first example using pyramid loading now, because my gains have
    started to slow.

  8. The president of italian Tudor Bompa institute told me that the second
example its better but he tolds me to do this :

    (for example)
    Day1 90 lbs
    Day2 75 lbs
    Day3 100 lbs

I've written an email directly to Tudor Bompa, he has not yet
    answered...

p.s. Sorry for my english 🙂

  9. Wow, i've solved my question: i've write to Tudor Bompa and he
    answered:

    Good to hear from you,
I am sure you'll understand the book quite well. Just read it with
attention and it will be OK.
    The step loading applies to:
    1. microcycles. Example: fist micro is low intensity, the second is
medium and the third is high, very demanding
    2. per days of the week (microcycle): there could be several vaiations,
but the simplest one is:day 1 of low intensity, day 2 medium, and day
    three very high.
If you train six times per week you can repeat the same thing once
    more.
For a five days training: day 1= low, 2= mdeium,3=high,4=low or medium
(depends how tired you are) and day 5=high again.
As you'll get accustomed to the text you'll see the merits of step
    loading.
Sorry for replying so late but I had a conference in USA.
    Auguri,
    Tudor O. Bompa

    I hope to be helpfully!
