Interesting. But I understand that in the event of a puncture, the quick repair is to pop a tube in, similar to what you do with tubeless car tyres. You can have the option of internal repair of the carcass, but is limited in size of puncture that can be reliably repaired this way.
Didn't find any spec in terms of weight though.
Oops, there are weight info. 700x23 comes in at 295g. 700x21 comes in at 265g.

Well, I wouldn't be so critical just yet. I think this is potentially positive technological development, call it invention if you will, and will have lots of room to grow. If one day we can have a light weight, high performance, puncture resistant tubeless, then I am all for it. At the present time it seemed a little on the borderline in terms of benefits. All good things take time... -

Who said anything about being critical? I just wanted to know how it was an improvement over a highly puncture resistant clincher or tubie.

You can make your own very easily anyhow.
I used to do it for MTB racing (DH) about 5 years ago. I dont race DH any longer and just run tubes in all my other bikes now.

Its a gimmick at the moment seeing as very few (I think only one) company makes the tubeless tyre and there are very few if not one again companies manufacturing compatible wheels.

I couldn't be bothered looking at the link....but is this the same as TUFO...has anybody ever used TUFO??? I see in their ads that they can take 180 psi

With MTB's tubeless are nice as you can run lower pressures (30-40psi) without worrying about pinch flats. Obviously these tires would have a similar property. Would it be beneficial on the road running sub 100psi? a) I don't know b) The tech specs in the link provided don't indicate what the recommended lowest pressure in the tires are anyway.
A lot of the flats I get are from radial wire out of retread truck tires. These are annoying and I'd think a tubeless would suit these well as you can simply pop a small part of the bead off and put a self adhesive patch on the inside of the casing. Works well on tubeless MTB's, a typical repair like this (as long as you find the offending piece of junk) takes less than a minute (plus pumping)
Finally I've run Campy wheels for the last few seasons. Getting a tire on without a lever I find virtually impossible and you need to take care not to pinch the tube. I haven't pinched a tube very often, but I have done it once or twice. Obviously no chance of this here, in fact you wouldn't even need to be especially gentle levering the bead over the rim.
Thats a few from the top of my head. These are probably one of those things where time will tell.

I hate these wanky "internet experience" web sites. Probably why no one knew the info, it was buried beneath a layer of disco lights with the wrong title thrown in and your've gone off to read your work emails while you were waiting for it to load and then forgot about it.
They claim that friction is reduced and around 0.5bar less air pressure. However the same chart didn't differentiate between front and rear wheels.
There may be a small benifit, but I'll wait for the early adopters to find the problems and then get the new improved version around 2010.
