Get some Specialized Armadillo tyres! I have a 46 mile round trip commute and was being plagued by p*nct*res unti getting some of these 600 miles ago.

Did you try the slime liquid? If you did try the slime tyre
liner they do MTB BMX and Road bike (700c) sizes it goes
between the tube and tyre. Slime even put a guarantee on the
back if you get a puncture through it send it to them for a
free replacement tube and liner.

Get decent tyres with a Kevlar belt or similar and keep them
up to their max recommended pressure.

My tyres, all 700Cx28:

Panaracer Pasela front, 7000 miles, no punctures (still
running) Panaracer Pasela rear, 4000 miles, one puncture
(worn out) Conti UltraGatorSkin rear, 3000 miles, one
puncture (still running)

My route is thankfully free from hawthorn hedges or
excessive glass. One puncture was caused by a thorn, the
other by a sharp bit of gravel in ice treatment. The
Panaracers run at 105psi, the Conti at 120. The Conti's
puncture happened on one of those "I really should have
pumped the tyres up" days, and was probably at 90-100psi.

I put those furry kevlar (?) strips inside my tyres last
autumn and had no punctures over the winter, despite cycling
~3days a week 8 miles into Durham along NCN14 (plenty of
thorns), plus a bit of road in Durham itself. I was a bit
put off by the price initially (£9.99) a tyre but they may
have stopped a puncture repair in the dark.

I second the kevlar tyres. T'other day I spent a merry 5
minutes picking a dozen of bits of glass out of my tyre, but
still no puncture :-)

Don't ride on the dirty bits of the road. Ride where the
cars have conveniently swept all the [censored] out of the way.

The puncture fairy doesn't live where car tyres roll..

Me too. I've worn out four pairs of Hutchinson Blue Line
Kevlars (cheap from Evans) without a single puncture. Must
be 12k miles althogether.
